Rustic Bed with Pillows

Start your own bed & breakfast business training

Are you considering setting up a bed and breakfast business but don't know where to start?

The idea of being your own boss, working from home and earning an income at the same time may sound very tempting and at first you may think that there can't be that much involved with setting up a B&B. Then you start looking into it and realise there is a lot to consider before you take that leap!

That is where my training course can come in very useful. I have done most of the hard work for you so all you have to do based on information gained from the course, is decide on the type of B&B you want to run, in what location and what facilities you plan to offer.

I set up Foxes Field B&B after a fair few number of years trying to find the ideal property. I had almost given up hope and then chanced upon our current home. It wasn't a business at the time but I knew it would work perfectly. After 10 years in the NHS and previous to that, many years in the corporate finance world I decided it was time to hang up my hat and try something different - and I am so glad I did as I love my new life!

Don't get me wrong there are moments when you wonder what you are doing, like dealing with demanding guests who can try even the most patient of people or a burst pipe, boiler breakdown or power cut. I have encountered them all! Add the Covid pandemic to that and I think I have pretty much encountered most catastrophes during the last 3 years and survived! Voted exceptional on and with 5 star reviews on Google and Trip advisor I work hard to deliver to my guests a wonderful experience that they want to shout about and return to enjoy.

 The Course

The course is run over 2 days from 10.00 to 5.00. There will be refreshments available throughout the day and a light lunch included in the price. The maximum number of delegates per course is 10 which allows people to share experiences and thoughts but remains a small group so that everyone can ask the questions they need to know. The cost per delegate is £300 or if you are a couple £500 for the two of you to attend. I have 3 rooms available, 2 doubles and a twin/double at a reduced rate of £50 per night which includes a continental breakfast and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

I have designed the course around everything I wanted to know or didn't know and learnt the hard way! about setting up a B&B. I have made the mistakes that hopefully you won't so that you can get off to a good start and start earning from day 1. In this post pandemic world, it’s even more important you have the knowledge and resilience for running your B&B and what it takes to survive and thrive.

During the 2 day course we will cover a lot of content but don't worry, you will be given a manual to take away with you that contains everything that has been discussed and more. Topics covered are: why you want to set up your B&B, why doing your research and getting the location right is so important, writing your business plan, financials -  how much will it cost you and how much could you earn, legislation, keeping accounts, marketing, how to get good reviews from day 1, fixtures and fittings and equipment, cooking the perfect breakfast, managing your guest's expectations and a lot more!
