We are very fortunate to have an award winning gin distillery on our doorstep just 3 miles from Foxes Field B&B.
Based in the heart of Cheshire, surrounded by outstanding countryside and ancient woodland, Three Wrens Gin is a small family business, who took the name ‘three wrens’ as a nod to our local village of Wrenbury, known for its picturesque walks and diverse wildlife and plant habitats.
A few months after launching, Three Wrens Gin were honoured to be awarded a Gold Medal at the World Gin Awards, for their apple crumble edition. This was the first competition they had entered and was judged by the UK’s top spirits experts, drinks critics and distillers. A further gold medal at the world gin masters followed, for their bison grass gin, and they have collected two more IWSC medals, a great British food award, and a further two world gin awards along the way on their journey so far.
T he distillery is open to the public and you can also participate in a gin school or tasting session. If staying at our B&B we are happy to take and collect you to the sessions so you can partake of the various gins on offer without having to worry about driving.
On visiting the distillery, there is a lovely comfortable space with two large tasting tables, and a relaxed vibe. After your arrival cocktail you will be shown into the spirits lab, where you can explore some of the 100 botanicals they use, and meet ‘Valerie’ & ‘Jill’ our copper pot stills. During the gin tasting and tour, you will enjoy an intimate and interactive experience with a hands on approach throughout. You will see a live distillation in progress, taste their full range, and learn about their future plans.
The gin school & distilling experience is a more in-depth session, where you experience all of the above, plus you will distil your own signature bottle of craft gin under their guidance.
Or why not blend your own gin? For just £45 per person you can create your own personal gin brand by blending ingredients they have expertly distilled and displayed on their wall of botanical discovery. You can choose from over 50 distilled botanicals. Why not combine this activity with a few drinks at the bar for a fun afternoon with your friends?
