The start of Autumn....

Last week marked the start of Autumn and whilst some places start winding down or closing up for the season, Cheshire continues to be vibrant and active with plenty to see and do during the colder months of the year. That is one of the things that drew us to this area. Coming from a seaside town, between the months of October to March all the attractions shut down, visitors diminished and it seemed that the whole resident population went into hibernation. Visiting Cheshire during the autumn and winter months we were amazed at how much activity there was in the various towns and villages.

So what can our autumn and winter guests look forward to? Well apart from all the lovely walks with cozy pubs and roaring log fires to greet you at the end we have Cholmondeley Castle's Autumn tints where you can walk the spectacular gardens of the castle every Sunday throughout October, taking in the gorgeous autumn hues culminating in the Autumn festival and Conker Championships on October 27th.

October 5th brings you the Blackberry Fair. A day to celebrate ‘local’, have fun – from bees to bunting and funky processions to markets and mayhem – Blackberry Fair is for everyone.  ‘Daring to be different’ – through fabulous food, with colourful events and arts and crafts – fun for all.

In Nantwich the weekend of Sat 18th and Sun 19th brings the return of the Artisan Market to the square. The markets are packed full of an eclectic mix of stalls, with a great selection of bespoke and handcrafted gifts, produce and treats.

On the Nantwich showground on Sunday October 19th we have Oktoberfest. The German Beer Festival including refreshing beers, delicious food and amazing live music.along with food Stalls, a Sax Player , Oompha Band and DJ.

Also on the 19th Turin Brakes are appearing live at the Nantwich Civic Hall at 19.30.

To round off the month we have Crewe Cosmopolitan Food Festival on the 27th October which celebrates the cultural diversity in our modern world with flavours from across the globe. An exciting annual event with great food from Artisan Food traders and live music.

We still have a couple of rooms available during October so if you feel like joining in the fun please ring for availability and to book. (Tel: 07808882313).

For those of you who would like to visit in November I will add upcoming events in a couple of weeks time.
